For many guys, the dance floor is like a mine field — which is why we stay away from it. One false move and KABOOM! We’re shattered.

I think about confidence a lot – how at various levels, it can be very useful, damaging, attractive or unattractive. I thought the “duck” experience from my past might help communicate some of these thoughts.

Finally, I broke down and did some green-screen work. I had always thought it seemed kinda cheap and cheesy, but I guess it’s better than you having to stare at my built-in cabinets.

With this video, I kinda got a taste for what it’s like to direct a love scene. I think I was more uncomfortable than the actors. They just popped a couple mints and went at it. Thank goodness for Professionals!

Super 8 was long gone, but it still found a way to inspire a 12 year old boy.

This was a sponsored video for Hewlett Packard, promoting their contest. I was asked to “Make a creative video about what defines you — without showing your face or using music.”

It took a couple days of banging my head against the wall, but I eventually remembered that old Super 8 camera. I feel very lucky to have found “it” at such an early age.

In this video, Father’s Day brings back some of the more embarrassing life-lessons that Matt was taught by his father.

My three older sisters and I often discuss the complexities of our dad. Sometimes we groan over certain memories, but all in all, we know we lucked out with a father who never cursed, never drank, and never laid a hand on us.

YouTube invited me to produce this video, but asked that I do so in six short days. I scrambled to find “young Matt Koval”, as well as an early 80s car, which ended up being a 1972 Mercury. Thanks to the Atomic Cafe in Los Angeles for letting us shoot.

The true story of Best Friend vs. Roommate.  (I lose.)

I still remember waking up on that plastic couch in the community area.  A female Resident Assistant tapped on my shoulder and asked, “Who are you?”  I told her I was visiting Travis, and had been a victim of Randy.  She didn’t exactly say “not again” — but it was something to that effect.  I wonder where Randy is now….

Thanks to Alvarez and Jason for giving me a hand on this one.  There were some pretty good bloopers I’ll have to cut together one day!

How to talk to women is a question that most men face at one time or another.  ”Just be yourself,” they tell us.  ”Just talk to us,” they say.  Well, we still have to speak actual words, right?

In my ongoing search for vlog material, I remembered my ol’ friend Keith’s tactic for approaching women at a bar.  He had it down to a science.  But even when he got rejected, he was one of those guys who could just smile and walk away.  It was truly impressive.  His confidence never took a hit.  Of course, to be honest, I was terrible at talking to girls in bars.  It was way too awkward (or maybe I was way too awkward).

By the way, my beautiful co-star was made from a Trader Joe’s shopping bag, and a leftover gift-box from Christmas.

Dog parks in Los Angeles are a place where I just can’t maintain any sense of masculinity.
