Super 8

by Matt Koval on July 25, 2009

Super 8 was long gone, but it still found a way to inspire a 12 year old boy.

This was a sponsored video for Hewlett Packard, promoting their contest. I was asked to “Make a creative video about what defines you — without showing your face or using music.”

It took a couple days of banging my head against the wall, but I eventually remembered that old Super 8 camera. I feel very lucky to have found “it” at such an early age.

Hey Matt
You are a great artist! I was wondering if you know where I can get an 8mm recorder like you have. I would ask to borrow yours if you still have it! My friend has an 8mm film player and she wanted to record something old skool… let me kno!

the story told in your video comes right from your heart, i’ve seen it, and i was so honored to watch this kind of video over some retarded ones. i just think that you have a lot of talent and that you are one of the few pure and realistic guy on youtube.
