Tenth

by Matt Koval on January 27, 2009

A story of chance encounters, random acts, and the strangers who drift in and out of our lives.

Tenth was born out of an overwhelming sense of sadness and loss. It’s one of the few times I’ve been compelled to channel such emotions through filmmaking. The short was selected by Cameron Crowe, Danny Devito, Bono, Annette Benning and Mike Myers as a winner of Kevin Spacey’s Triggerstreet.com film competition. Turn up the volume for maximum effect.

Awesome! Superb! I am a moment-person. So, movies and photography fall right into my niche of favorite stuff of collecting. I took Film-Making in high school, Advertising in college, and a few years back took Scriptwriting right before ‘The Crying Game’ was released in the theatres and professed to win for best script. I can only hope to do something half as great as this project. Thanks bro.

This was both emotional in a sad and hopeful way. Loss of a mother, but a chance encounter that brings hope to that child who needs someone while dealing with his loss. I love the way you did this. You totally captured this heart-wrenching and overwhelming emotion.
