Why Men Don’t Dance

by Matt Koval on February 5, 2010

For many guys, the dance floor is like a mine field — which is why we stay away from it. One false move and KABOOM! We’re shattered.

I think about confidence a lot – how at various levels, it can be very useful, damaging, attractive or unattractive. I thought the “duck” experience from my past might help communicate some of these thoughts.

Finally, I broke down and did some green-screen work. I had always thought it seemed kinda cheap and cheesy, but I guess it’s better than you having to stare at my built-in cabinets.

the title should be rephrased “Why MOST men don’t dance”.

and the answer is most of the men don’t dance because:
- they simply don’t know how; dance is a learned skill
- they are wimps, zero confidence
- they are brainwashed “real mend don’t dance” (in fact they do, and always did since the humanity exists)

and by dance I mean real social dances, like salsa, tango, swing, etc.
real men WON’T make fools of themselves with crap like “club dancing”; they will go dance real dances in salsa clubs, swing parties or tango milongas.

That is really a shame. I used to go out dancing a lot and would frequently ask guys to dance, and I got shot down nearly every time. I always took it as a personal rejection, but you’re saying they were just insecure? Hm.

Anyway, Matt, you are so gorgeous that if you weren’t married, I’d say you could dance like a duck at my place any time!
